Lyrics
MUSIC IN THE HOUSE
By: AJ Bigler
I don’t remember a time when there wasn’t a set of drums on a throw rug in the corner of the basement where the heater hums out it’s tune.
Yeah there was music in our house.
I was on the bass and daddy was on the drums, moma she played the keyboards and my older brother would strum his guitar
There was music in our house.
Sometimes some rock and roll, other times some bluesy old soul, and other times a ballad by the likes of Nat King Cole, yeah yeah yeah
There was music in our house
(Chorus)
But it wasn’t the kind that you buy at the store and it didn’t come from the family stereo, no no no ,
But there was music in our house
(Verse)
Sometimes on a Saturday night, we’d get out the Coleman light the neighbors would buy a keg of beer and we’d play our tunes all night. Yeah yeah yeah
There was music in our house
You see we never had no trouble with the local police, they’d come by on those Saturday nights listen my sister Denise, sing the blues.
There was music in our house
(Interlude)
(Bridge)
The devil never got a shot at me, the rhythm kept him away the from the family
Because these was music, in our house
(Outro)
I’m talking about family stuff……..
